Description: Everybody\'s Treehouse in Mt. Airy Forest provides a new perspective on the forest for people of all ages and abilities. Wheelchair accessible, the Treehouse can be the highlight of an educational program for your special needs class. Much of the program takes place in the nearby Oak Ridge picnic / playground area, which is equipped with accessible bathrooms (in season). Description: NatureConnections is Cincinnati Parks\' FREE outreach program to Cincinnati schools serving primarily at-risk and economically disadvantaged students in grades 4 - 6. The program consists of three naturalist programs all focused on a particular theme - one each in Fall, Winter and Spring. The Fall and Spring visits take advantage of green space within easy walking distance of the school, to provide outdoor experiences, activities and explorations that help make state science standards come alive. The Winter visit occurs within the classroom. Classrooms in the program are also able to borrow equipment from the NatureConnections lending library, to help with additional investigations.

Description: Park Naturalists can work with you to set up Service Learning projects for your class. Topics that could be covered include: 1) Alien Species: instruction on the ecological damage caused by invasive non-natives, information on their origins and how to recognize them, and work projects restoring natural habitat through non-native removal. 2) Water Quality Testing: information on water quality and its importance to aquatic life, instruction on using a biotic index and chemical test kits, and work projects gathering water quality data from park streams or Burnet Woods Lake. 3) Biologic Inventories: instruction from a Naturalist on field identification of targeted species and on surveying techniques, and work projects locating and identifying species and creating a database of findings.

Description: NatureConnections is Cincinnati Parks\' FREE outreach program to Cincinnati schools serving primarily at-risk and economically disadvantaged students in grades 4 - 6. The program consists of three naturalist programs all focused on a particular theme - one each in Fall, Winter and Spring. The Fall and Spring visits take advantage of green space within easy walking distance of the school, to provide outdoor experiences, activities and explorations that help make state science standards come alive. The Winter visit occurs within the classroom. Classrooms in the program are also able to borrow equipment from the NatureConnections lending library, to help with additional investigations.
